Matt Palmer intends The Ashes to be an auto-biographical composition. It echoes an earlier period in his career as a metal guitarist.
Palmer tours regularly, performs widely, and is a prolific, critically acclaimed recording artist and author. He has collaborated with many important composers to write new music for the guitar. He is the author of the book, The Virtuoso Guitarist. He plays electric guitar for fun.
Matt holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Arizona, where he studied with Thomas Patterson, David Russell, Odair Assad, and Sergio Assad.
